Day 99 - Am I Speedy Gonzales, Or What?!
Apr. 9th, 2010 08:43 pmAfter working another ten hours, I have managed to complete all of one bank and half of another. I'm going to go in on Sunday in the afternoon. All I have left is the other half of the bank and the Petty Cash. Then we'll have numbers we can play with. It should be a cause for celebration, however, I'm so pissed off, it will probably take me ages to unwind tonight.
When we met with the client and set out on the path of OMG MUST GET THIS DONE!, my boss CLEARLY said to him, I'm not that busy right now, so I can help pick up the slack while Judy does the data entry. Remember that. It's important to the tale.
On Thursday, I got my co-worker working on the Petty Cash while I was busy doing the Accounts Payable. What was my boss doing? Shopping, getting her hair done, going to the bank. When I was LEAVING, she said, oh.... is there anything I can help you with???
Seriously, you should see the teeth marks on my tongue sometime :) Anyway, I just said, there's three months of Petty Cash left that didn't get finished. Plus there's employee expenses that need checking. That really slowed me down in the other year. And then I went home.
Today, I completed eighteen months worth of data entry. I barely stopped to take bathroom breaks. What was my boss doing? Going to chiro and massage, shopping, picking up stuff from clients. When she came home, did she get on that Petty Cash and employee expenses? No. She did her hairdresser's tax return.
When the guy called to see how we were doing and to say he's working on getting an extension to the deadline we're working against, she had the NERVE to be all I'VE been working very hard on it. Like what the hell???? I guess making up the guy's invoice is working really hard. When I go on Sunday, I'm doing the bank and that's it. She can take care of the rest of it, since she's working so hard.
