A New Beginning - Version 1.0
Jan. 1st, 2009 12:00 amTitle stolen from

I didn't realize it's been so long since I last posted here. Meh. Same ole same ole I guess. Anyway, at the beginning of the year, instead of making a zillion resolutions like most people do, I thought I'd up the chances of my success and resolve to do only one thing. I picked my health to work on because over the last three or four years, I developed chronic problems with my lungs. And so my resolution was to find some way of not picking up every single cold virus that happened my way.
I won't go into details but I'm happy to say that I managed to make it through 2008 without ending up in emergency or long term care at the hospital even once. Was touch and go a few times, but I muddled through.
And so, as 2008 draws to a close and 2009 waits in the wings, I decided to broaden my range a bit. My resolutions are thusly broken into four catergories.
1. Physical - Build on what I accomplished in 2008 and improve on my health even more. Possibly get of some of my multiple medications.
2. Creative - Make an concentrated effort to get back into my writing.
3. Financial - Get back into the habit of saving money.
4. Spiritual - Learn mediation and become more in touch with the worlds beyond.
Here's to both the old year and the new. May we all move a little further along life's road. To close, an excerpt from Alfred Lord Tennyson.
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light:
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
