Spray-on mud helps make SUV more legit

It could be the ultimate accessory for the 4x4-driving city dweller: spray-on mud. A few squirts and neighbours will think you spent the weekend hurtling along muddy lanes looking for a country retreat, rather than sitting in traffic on the way to drop the kids off before your yoga class.
My reaction:
-_-
NOTHING makes a SUV more legit. I can't even believe that an SUV could actually go cross country. The engine would probably fall out the first time you went over a log or something. I mean do they really think that mud is going to make people think that a vehicle that looks like that actually went somewhere tough.
I don't get it. What the hell happened to Jeeps? Jeeps were rugged tough little things that could actually do what they claimed to do. I don't understand why suddenly they're selling these poncey looking things pretending that they're badass.
You know what this reminds me of? It reminds me of the cartoon with Spike the bulldog and the smaller tan coloured dog that wanted to be tough just like Spike. But the real issue here isn't about spray on mud; it's about the increasingly bizzare need of humans to be something they are not. People are going into debt just to play keep up with the Jones or the ever popular 'who has the biggest status symbol'?
Weird.
EDIT: This spray on mud costs $17.91!!! Hell, for that price, I should offer to go around with a water pistol full of mud.
