Every decision you make is a mistake
Jun. 4th, 2005 05:40 pmSo... My coworker's birthday was at the end of May. The boss and the rest of us grunts had decided to take her out for lunch to celebrate. After much discussion, we decided on a date, a time, what we wanted to eat and where.
So... Today was the big day. We had decided on fish and chips. We had decided on Pajo's which is down by the water and makes the best fish and chips there is in our area. The fish is moist and flavourful. The batter is light and flaky. It melts in your mouth so smoothly that men weep and angels sing.
So... We drive down to the water. It's a little windy but the three of us are wearing jackets, so we're cool. The boss is not, so she's cold not cool. This leads her to say... "I don't want to go to Pajo's. It's too open for such a windy day."
So... She picks another seafood restaurant at random. And then says... "Let's eat here. We can sit on the patio."
>< I can hear the dark side calling. I say... "If we're going to sit outside on the patio, we might as well go to Pajo's and sit. It has a better view."
The boss does not want to do that. I suggested maybe we should ask the person whose birthday we're celebrating what they want to do. Unfortunately, the birthday girl is an older Japanese lady. The other lady is an older Filophino lady. Neither of them are big on making a fuss. They both nod politely and agree to eat at... Sockeye City Diner.
>< The fish and chips sucked. I'm not sure if they sucked because they really sucked, or if they sucked because I'd been looking forward to Pajo's for the whole week. Either way. It sucked.
The moral of the story boys and girls is that I hate when people decide on a time or a place and then at the last second change their minds. GRRR...
