Day 152 - Karma
Jun. 1st, 2011 11:12 amSo now that my boss wants to leave YESTERDAY, she's being even MORE shitty to her clients than usual.
There are two clients that have been trying to get her to do things for ages. One wants their old data brought up to date, and the other wants her to do their 2010 taxes. Every time they've sent her and email or a phone call, I've either printed out the email or written down the message and passed it along to her, which she then chose to ignore or whatever.
To illustrate how bad things have gotten, on Monday, after MUCH nagging from me, she chose to EMAIL - or rather, she got ME to email a response because, yes, phoning would mean that she'd be on the spot right away. Anyway, to the client who wanted her to do their taxes she sent - I'm retiring and I don't want to take on any new work. I'll pack up your stuff and call you when it's ready so you can send a courier. To the client, whose data she has yet to complete she sent - I'll get it done when I get it done.
Yesterday, she phone me on my day off about something else and then she spent ten minutes wah wahing about the scathing email she got from the client that she told she wouldn't do her 2010 taxes. Basically, the lady sent, I've been your client for 15 years and thus I do not feel that I fall under the term of new work. I would have appreciated more notice as to your decision not to do my current years taxes as the deadline is now two weeks away. I have been trying to contact you and this is the first time you have responded.
Frankly, I think the woman is well within her rights to be pissed off. And then she made ME pissed off by trying to say that it was my fault that she never responded to the lady. She was all... we didn't get any emails or phone calls from her did we. You didn't... and I cut her off right there. I said, I printed out emails and wrote up phone messages and passed them along to you. I guess you just decided to put her on the back burner.
Then she was all... I feel kinda guilty. And I thought.. AND SO YOU SHOULD YOU HORRIBLE PERSON YOU!
AND THEN she was all... Is it a bit UNETHICAL???? A BIT, YES! I say from between clenched teeth.
So the final decision was she would think about what to respond to the lady - whether she was going to back up and do her taxes or not.
The other client CALLED her and again she tried to make it my fault that the work wasn't done. She said she told the client well it'll depend on how long Judy takes to do the taxes blah blah. I'm supposed to call the client and talk to her about it. Fortunately, I've talked to this client a lot about my boss so I know she's knows I'm not the one holding up the works.
BUT THE NERVE!!!!
And then today, after making me come in so early that my mother was still asleep when I left, she was all I couldn't find the file so I didn't leave you the numbers you need to do the lady's taxes. You'll have to go on my computer and get them. And oh by the way, can you call so and so and ask her this and that.
And I'm thinking... and you couldn't go there and print them off yourself and leave them on my desk? And also, this is YOUR business! Why am I the one doing all the work??!??
I'm so glad that regardless of whether she leaves or not, I only have four months left.
