Woke up at 4:30am. Gah. This is ridiculous. Kinda hot and itchy. Bleh.

Transferred my notes about Prince William to the slash notebook. Read the Unicorn book and added some unicorn ideas to the William, Giles, Spike thing.

The day continues....

Showered and went down for breakfast at 8:50am. Had a lurvely breakfast until 9:30am. Went to the internet cafe and checked my mail. EGADS! I forgot to set my lists to no mail.

Changed the settings and printed out the Premium Tours Bookings and the Movie Listings. Also called the Premium Tours people to confirm our bookings for the three tours we signed up for. Lady was very nice and was able to arrange it so that we could have the same pickup spot for all three. So... We're all set!

Left the cafe and caught the tube to the Baker Street station. We walked the wrong way on Baker Street but since we were looking for Number 10, we figured that out quickly and got ourselves turned around the right way. Soon we were at the place where Sherlock Homles was written as having lived. Number 10, Baker Street.

Went to the museum. Which is really the upstairs of a old house that has been filled with Holmes memorabilia. The bottom floor is a shop.

The doorman was really cute! Saw scenes from the different books and lots of merchandise. Bought a Sherlock Holmes pen. It has the classic, elementary, my dear Watson, on it. They were SO doing it! Conan Doyle was just too polite to mention it. *cough*

Also bought some Prince William postcards. He's grown up to be a very handsome young man. I wonder if belonging to an incredibly weathly family offsets the fish bowl life he has. ::ponders::

Walked from the museum to Regent's Park. Realized that it was just that. A park. Not even anything interesting. Just trees and shrubs and other gardeny type stuff. Decided to just walk by it. The walk to Madam Tussauds was nice. Lots of shade.

Got to Madam Tussauds. Really LONG line. It moved fairly quickly though. There are two little kids in front of us with their dad and they're being very good about having to stand and wait.

One of them is called Molly. She looks like she's the youngest. Their dad was really smart. He'd brought lots of cold juice and stuff for them.

Spent fifteen to twenty minutes in the line working our way to the door only to find out there's a BIGGER line inside! YIKES! Wondered if we should turn around but decided that since we'd got that far, we might as well push on.

So we did. The line zig zagged for ANOTHER HOUR moving past some metal casts of hand prints of famous people before it went up a flight of stairs.

The hand prints were kinda interesting Viccy tried Samuel L. Jackson's hands which were huge and Robin Williams' which were surprisingly the same size as hers. That was kinda cool.

Anyway... At the top of the stairs we finally see light at the end of the tunnel!!! The admissions desk!

But GASP!!! The horror! The horror!

They have the price of addmission on an electronic thingy above the desk. YIKES! Ninteen pounds ninety nine pence!!!

Oh humanity!!! That's like HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! And if you want to buy the guide book it's another four pounds!!! This is one of those moments that I'm sure would send you into a violent homicidal rage if you were an unbalanced person.

Good thing there are no such persons here. *twitchtwitchtwitch*

Decided that since we spent almost an HOUR AND A FUCKING HALF in a line, we should pay the arm and the leg they want and go through rather than fight our way back through the line. Paid our money and went through to the viewing area.

What the fuck?!??!?! This is so stupid. It's just one giant room with everyone milling everywhere and obstructing the view of the maniquinns. GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

THIS is what I paid twenty pounds for!??!!! >__<

You can barely see the figures. What a fucking disappointment. Was expecting it to be laid out like the old Tussads which had seperate rooms. It looks like they knocked out the walls to make one GIANT room.

One floor had the actors, actress and musicians. One floor had the politicians and royalty. Was disappointed that there was no Prince William :)

One floor held the Chamber of Horrors. Again it was different than the way it was ten years ago. It was stupid.

Instead of having the many figures reflecting the evil of history, they had live actors that you couldn't see since it was pitch dark. They had flashing lights and loud noises. It was very disappointing.

And I thought it was quite unsafe too since they had us in total darkness except for the flashing lights which really threw off your perception. I could see someone easily getting disorientated down there. Or having an epiletic seizure.

They of course have a disclaimer before you go in asking anyone with health problems or those under twelve to stay behind. But we all know people are idiots and I saw at least three people with their underage kids.

After the Chamber of Horrors, we went to the next floor which held the Spirit of London ride. That was stupid too. Basically it was a ride through the different stages in London's history. Only they left out A LOT of stuff. *grumble*

And the background music was so loud that you could barely hear the recorded speaker. Also the ride was like a train with the cars looking like the old style british taxi cabs. That was cool but they were on a conveyor belt and you had to hop in as they moved by.

Which would have been fine except they were moving kind quickly. Yeh, broken leg here we come. Managed to get in okay though. Was surprised.

Again with the size thingy. These things were definitely not made for extra large people. The car was small and a metal bar came down to keep you inside. I was squashed. If I had been any bigger.... Yikes!

The last floor had the something called the Planetarium. Yeah right. That was crap too.

They didn't even have the planets in a real solar system. They were just stuck in the wall. Yippee.

There was a tour but we didn't go on it. It was modelled around Disney's Treasure Planet so bleh. After we left astrocity that was Madam Tussauds we went back to the Baker Street station.

Bought more water at the station then caught the tube back to Paddington. It's very hot. Viccy wants to go out for dinner but I just can't. I'm knackered as the British would say.

Slept while Viccy went out on her own. She returned with food for me! I'm amazed. What a nice person!

Babbled about Madam Tussauds while we ate. Agreed that it as crapola. Moaned about the heat.

Viccy went to bed and I stayed awake because I had slept earlier. Stupid me. Slept fitfully because of the heat.

Woke at 730am.
