Day 49 - Bill Gates = Satan Y/N???

wolfsbrideIf you recall my big rant from the beginning of January, you'll know that I said I wouldn't be doing any extra stuff for my boss any more. I decided to waive that a little with regards to the computer stuff after the boss and the co-worker wiped out some data on some of our clients. Fortunately, I always remind them to back up so we only lost the most current stuff. It's still a pain though.
The problem is that our computers are not networked together because my boss is cheap, so we have to manually trade files when we want to work on each others stuff. I believe the most annoying thing about Vista is that it does not have the nifty move to - copy to feature that XP does. That's really handy for letting you transfer a file directly to where you want it to be. With Vista you can only send to a limited number of places. If you want the file to be somewhere else, you then have to go in and move it yourself. Hence the problems.
Because of that, a few weeks ago, I changed the way I've been telling them to transfer their files. Today, my boss managed to transfer several companies with little supervision from me. This is the conversation that followed:
Boss: THIS IS SO EASY! IT SEEMED A LOT MORE COMPLICATED BEFORE.
Me: That's because I modified the instructions to fit your level of computer illiterateness.
Boss: Oh.
Maybe I shouldn't have cut her off at the knees, but the last thing I need is for her to get over confident and try to do something really complicated when I'm not around. Less messy that way.
