Day 27 - A Long Day

Worked eleven hours today because I REALLY needed to get this client done. We're meeting with her on Friday and I didn't want to still be trying to finish everything tomorrow. Would have been a regular length day only I spent the first half of the morning doing odds and ends for my boss. Sadly, my see the next desk sign only works on colleagues not superiors.
On the plus side, apparently the six tax returns I assumed needed filing is actually only two. After my fifth or so prompting about the status of several clients' records, my boss finally snapped, "will you stop bothering me about them! They probably won't owe anything anyway!"
Ooookay. My boss' rationale is if they don't owe money, there's no rush to file them. Never mind that you get a late filing penalty regardless of whether you owe money or not. But whatever. Since I've been formally reprimanded for reminding her to do her job; I won't any more. My boss is rather good at sleazing her way out of trouble with the clients so this will just be one more opportunity for sleazing when it all comes out.
