So I was sitting in the doctor's office today because for a change it was my mom's appointment not one of my own and I was glancing through the magazines he had on his table. One of the ones I picked up happened to be Elle, which I think may be just a Canadian magazine but at any rate it's about fashion, so you get the idea.

Let me tell you... I was HORRIFIED. Firstly by what is considered fashionable. Do people actually WEAR this stuff off the runways???? I wouldn't dress my DOG, if I had one, in the crap they were featuring. But mostly I was horrified by the state of the models.

These people make TWIGGY, for those of us who are old enough to remember her, look healthy. When did anorexia become the height of fashion? Arms and legs like sticks, necks that look like they can barely hold up a head, hips that look like they would break if you bumped them the wrong way. It boggles my mind that these women are considered beautiful.

And the makeup. Is the battered woman look in this year??? I always thought the point of make up was to not to be seen as wearing any. Blending is clearly passe these days. We'll have to find other uses for those cute little triangle pieces of foam I guess.
