Day 239 - The Boyscouts Have It Right
Aug. 27th, 2010 11:58 amThis morning my phone rings at 8:30. I'm up and about and thinking, who on earth is calling me at this time????? Lo and behold, it's my boss!
I let the machine pick up and from the bathroom I could hear her say something about a tax return. My immediate thought was... oh my gosh, she's lost the tax return I printed for her yesterday. She's supposed to be seeing a client today and she needs to take it and a bunch of other stuff with her for the client to review.
When I get dressed I phone her back. It turns out she forgot to do a journal entry yesterday which will change the tax return completely. I have to go there RIGHT AWAY!!! So I do, all the while thinking, what's the big deal? It'll take me five minutes to reprint the tax return. When I arrive, the place is in chaos. There are papers lying all over the place. She was SUPPOSED to have put the client's file together last night. She's doing it now. While trying to fix this mistake she made.
She spent the next hour and a half spazzing out and yelling at the dogs for bothering her never mind that she'd forgotten to feed them in her panic to get the stuff done. Meanwhile, I'm walking around behind her, rolling my eyes and handing her stuff as she screams about not being able to find it.
What a total idiot.
She's now gone to her appointments and meetings and what nots and I have the place to myself. I was going to finish off a client's year end as we were going to be going to see them tomorrow, but the client cancelled and considering the morning she's just put me through, I think I'll just sit here and enjoy the peace and quiet and do absolutely nothing at all. It'll be the only vacation I get so I might as well make the best of it.
