Day 211 - Well That Was A Lousy Day Off
Jul. 30th, 2010 08:07 pmSurprise surprise, my boss did not come home yesterday. So I ended up in the office. I had intended to do absolutely nothing but I ended up having to do a couple of things for the client I mentioned in an earlier post. The one that she was supposed to be helping before she jetted off in spite of having a deadline. I didn't mind helping the client because hey, tis my job. But I made sure to point out that I couldn't actually DO anything useful as I am not authorized to speak to the government on his behalf. He left a bit worried. I would be too.
I COULD have pretended to be her again I suppose, but I refused to on the grounds it was her project and her responsibility. I also refused to do any of the things she kept calling me about during the day. Mainly because there were all things she could have done herself but mostly because I was annoyed. If she had come back at the time she was supposed to, she would have met her deadline, the client would be out of trouble with the government and I would have had a proper day off.
I have decided I'm going to charge her for a full eight hours even though I only did a few work related things today. I'm also going to charge her overtime for working on Monday.
