Day 120 - HUZZAH! IT'S OVER!
Apr. 30th, 2010 09:58 pmFor another year anyway. We clocked out at 6pm, which I think is the earliest we've ever finished. Due in no small part to my co-worker working on her days off and me working nine to ten hour days. I counted it up today and for the month of April I worked 193 hours. So anyway, most of our last minute tax returns went by courier in the afternoon. We only had a few to drop off at the tax office.
We set out and it's 6pm on a Friday night so the traffic's a little slow, not horrible, just a bit sluggish. But my boss can't wait So, seeing the two cars ahead of us taking a fast right turn, she decides to do the same thing. But does she turn left and left again to get back onto the street that we want to be on? No. She keeps following the two cars. About five minutes later, she remarks... What are they doing??? LIKE BLOODY HELL, WOMAN! THEY'RE NOT GOING TO OUR DESTINATION!!! Of course, they're going to be making weird turns.
So because my boss is an idiot and followed two strange cars, she got totally lost. Finally she sees a street she thinks she recognizes so we turn right. As we drive along, she's... the names don't seem familiar. Does she stop going in the direction she's going? No. She keeps driving and asks me to get the map. We've been here before, remember?
Instead of pulling over till we get sorted on on the map, she keeps driving and making turns. By the time I find us on one intersection, she's taken a few more twists and turns. I can't keep up. Finally, she gets back on a street she recognizes and I find it on the map. We're about eleven blocks in the opposite direction of where we should be. We get turned around and drive all the way back to WHERE WE WERE IN THE FIRST PLACE and continue on.
