Day 68 - A Day Off

So, today I called in sick. I had a little bit of a migraine but I could have gone to work. I've worked with a migraine before. I just chose not to today because I was feeling petty.

Yesterday, I was working on three tax returns simultaneously. My boss happened to wander by my desk. When she registers what I'm doing, she squawks, What are you doing that for! Don't you have anything better to do?????

I dunno. Personally, I thought I was getting us ahead of the tax rush by getting several of the simpler clients out of the way. Apparently I'm wasting my time and her money.

As for not having anything better to do, actually yeah, I don't. BECAUSE YOU HIRED AN EXTRA WORKER YOU MORON! Which takes some of the menial stuff that I was doing so that I'm freed up to.... I thought, do more specialized stuff. Apparently she'd rather waste her money paying me to do work that a lower paid worker could easily accomplish.

Whatever. I give up trying to make this place function with any degree of efficiency.

So, instead of going to work so I can sit twiddling my thumbs till she gives me something BETTER to do, I took the day off and relaxed.
