Day 20 - A Broken Record
Jan. 20th, 2010 10:16 amMy apologies for always nattering on about work but since it takes up a large chunk of my life and it's so bloody annoying, it's what's blipping on the radar screen sadly.
Today was another one of those I'm going to kill someone days. It can be summed up thusly. Excuse the caps and the swearing but really the emotion of the moment needs them.
OMFG!!! I AM GOING TO SURGICALLY IMPLANT A FREAKING BRAIN IN MY CO-WORKER'S HEAD BECAUSE CLEARLY SHE IS BLOODY BRAINLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!
I just... Some days there are no words for the mind boggling amazement I feel about this woman. Supposedly she used to work for a large Canadian corporation (CSA), with lots of responsibility. You wouldn't know it by her work for us. She had some health issues that forced her to leave her job with CSA and it's like she's turned off her brain so that she doesn't fall into the same thing as with her old job.
As I've mentioned before, she asks the same questions now as she did when she first started six years ago. She refuses to THINK about what she's doing. For example, she's working on a client who is a photographer and she kept asking me what expense account she should put things to. We have THREE other photographers! Their basic expenses are all the same! She's worked on all of them! After the second similar question, I finally said where would you put it for the other photographers? When she replied, I said, that's were it goes. I confess I was a bit snappy but honestly! A brain is for more than just filling our skulls.
I was saying to a friend that I so sympathise with the character of Severus Snape. I understand why he's rude and obnoxious. Frankly, I think it might be a bit healthier that way. As a society, we have to be polite to each other in order to work together to accomplish things but constantly repressing our feelings can't possibly be good for us.
