Day 13 - I Could Write A Book
Jan. 13th, 2010 11:33 pmFinally finished the T4s today. The ones I had SIN #s for at least. Anyway, today's story is not about them. Today's tale comes straight from the pages of 'OMG! YOU'RE SUCH A MORON!'
First some background. My boss does books for this lady in Alberta. Earlier last year she finished as much as the lady had given her and had sent a disc with the data to her so she could continue the work herself. Then she booked a flight to Alberta for Christmas and the lady was all well come spend a couple of days with me and help me organize my stuff. Fine.
When she was ready to leave, I said, shouldn't you take her stuff back since you're going to see her anyway; it'll save you shipping.
My boss: No, I don't need to do that!
Fine.
So she came back and then a week later she's leaving once more. Again I say, shouldn't you take her stuff back since you're going to see her anyway; it'll save you shipping.
My boss: I can't be bothered with that!
Fine. Never mind she's CHARGED the lady for shipping the stuff back to her already.
Today at 3PM she calls me. Can you pack up the lady's stuff and mail it to me??? I'm supposed to meet her and we need that stuff to continue the data entry.
Me: You're meeting her tomorrow, aren't you?
Boss: Yeah, so?
Me: You realize even if I mail it Xpress, it's not going to get there until Friday, right?
Boss: *assorted curses*
Me: *holds phone away so that I don't have to listen*
Boss: I'll have to change the meeting to Friday. *more swearing*
Me: I'll just go pack up the stuff shall I? *hangs up*
So now I have to find something to put the files in, and get it ready for mailing. By the time I do that it's 4PM. The mail leaves the post office at 5PM. So I have to leave NOW to get it there in time. Luckily, the new girl has a vehicle and she gave me a ride to the post office. If I had to have walked it probably would not have got there in time.
The punchline: She didn't leave me any petty cash so I had to pay to send the package out of pocket. Yes, I shall be submitting the bill.
