It's over! It's finally over!

Lol... You remember that thing with the kids that I was complaining about waaaaaaay back at the beginning of the journal? What? You don't? Well... Why don't you flip back and re read it then. I'll wait.

Dum Dee Dum Dee Dum Dum *taps paw on floor* La La La La La *looks at watch*

OH! You're back! So anyway... it was today. And the verdict is!??!?

Eh. It was ok. Not great. Not horrible. But ok. I was kind of disappointed that the older kids didn't sing out more. Will have to work on that.

My thoughts on the whole thing. First, must start earlier next year. While I had the idea for what to do way back in July. I didn't get the go ahead until much later. And by then it was too late to ask people to do stuff. So I ended up doing it all.

Next year, I'll start earlier so that I have time to assign people tasks. Delegate! Delegate! Delegate!

Second, must work on motivating the older kids. I love singing. And it bothered and still bothers me that the older kids don't have any appreciation for the joy of singing. You wouldn't believe the cries of horror when singing time comes around. I'd have thought they'd be glad to have a break from their lessons.

Third, must find ways to teach the younger kids the words. They're the ones with the enthusiasm! Must tap that. It'll mean lots of me saying the words over and over and over. Must think of ways to make it less boring.

I'm really excited about next year's presentation. I've been listening to the songs we get to present and I've got lots of ideas happening already. I think I'll have to start now to pull them off though. It's a bit more complicated than just straight singing.

All in all a good learning experience. It was interesting to see the levels of involvement the parents where willing to put in. You could tell which parents worked with their kids and which didn't. Very telling.
