War is Heck
Two posts in the same day! Wow! The world is coming to an end.

I have no great love of Bush and personally I think the war in Iraq has little to do with American security but while I agree that that it's a horrible thing to lose a child, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean... In war people die. Her son joined the army and got sent there. And then he died. Did she not consider the possibility? Did her son, on making the decision to become a soldier, give no thought to the fact that someday his wife and kids might have to go on without him?
I don't know. I guess maybe I'm insensitive or something but I can't really work up sympathy for people in these situations. I mean okay, I feel sorry for the kids who'll never know their father but I've always thought that if you are the parent of or if you marry someone that has a dangerous job, you should be prepared to deal with the fact that you may lose them.
*looks around* Is my jadedness and cynicism showing?
