Day Nine - The Bookstores
Slept fairly well. It seemed cooler last night, thank gods. Read in the paper that the temperature had gotten up to an all time high of 38.1 C.
Gah. No wonder I've been dying. It's bad for the tube system as well since when it's really hot the rails expand causing all sorts of delays.
The day continues...

Today is supposed to be cooler though. Yay. Went down to breakfast early but there was hardly anything there. Turns out they were having problems with the kitchen. Found out the hotel guy's name.
It's Nick. Viccy was all shocked that I asked him but hey, I wanted to know. He was so apolgetic about the breakfast thing it was sweet. Was tempted to grumble a bit so he'd apologize some more. I'm sick :)
We were supposed to go to St. Paul's & Shakespeare's Globe Theatre today but I decided I'd skip St. Paul's since I've already seen Westminster Abbey and I figured I'd only go there and get that defiling a holy place feeling again. So we'll go see the Globe on the same day as the Tower of London.
Went back to Charing Cross road and this time we did find the bookstore Viccy misplaced back in Day Six. The bookstore's called Gay's the Word. Three guess what kinda books it sells :P
Viccy bought the Joy of Gay Sex for .... research purposes. *cough* I bought a small book about women at war and one about Pagans and Witchcraft.
From there we went to Foley's bookstore. Bought a BIG book of Mythical history and a Lord of the Rings bookmark. I now have a One Ring To Rule Them All. MWUH HA HA HA HAAAA!!!
*puts ring on*
Phooey. I don't feel any ebeeler. Damn thing must be broken. And I was so looking forward to being all powerful too.
*pout*
We're sitting in Garfunkel's again. A different one this time. Having the tuna sandwich. Was very good! The music they're playing is great. Makes me want to dance. Fortunately for everyone concerned, I managed to refrain.
Went to King's Cross station just so Viccy could take a picture of Platform 9 3/4. My friend is insane. But then so am I, so it's all good.
They actually had a little plaque that said Platform 9 3/4. Viccy had me take her picture there.
Then we dragged ourselves back to the our hotel, the Happy Piccolini :) Read the books we had bought and just babbled.
At 630pm, we went out to Mimos again. I had the house salad which was orgasmic and a chicken club that has ruined me for other chicken clubs. Sigh. We're wondering if we can kidnap the chef.
It was about 830pm when we got home. Watched Diamonds are Forever. It was interesting. I suppose at the time it was made, it was the height of something or the other, but watching it from today's perspective, it was dull.
We babbled some more til 1am. Which isn't good. We have to get up early as we're going on the second tour.
