1. I know I've babbled about this before but honestly, it would be LESS mortifying to go around half naked than to try to clothe your body in a stupid gown that fits neither your body size nor your body shape. At least they got rid of the ridiculous paper gowns.

Oh, I guess I should mention I was there for a chest xray and nothing horrible. Though, frankly the whole thing was horrible :D

2. My boss - I'm not even going to go into any details. Just assume more moronic behaviour and move on.

3. USB Keys - I bought one finally. And I wanted to put something on it since they give you this handy little bar thing to loop something around. However, it is not handy at all. I spent two minutes trying to get the piece of string I wanted to use through the stupid gap. I think I shall have to resort to tying the string to a piece of thread and pulling it through that way.

And don't get me started about getting it out of the package. That's an annoyance of a higher level.

Trying to get used to the new laptop. The makers of this model decided to eschew decades of laptop formats and put a number pad on the keyboard. I'm sure they thought they were doing people a favour but now I have to move my hands three inches to the left. It makes for awkward typing. They've also moved the position of the shift key, so every time I try to capitalize the beginnings of my sentences, I end up hitting some weird function key thing and screwing up the keyboard. Same thing with the enter key. Most annoying.

I'm also trying not die of heat stroke. I shudder to think what my hydro bill is going to be next month.

I hadn't intended to dip into my savings for this. My plan was to put money aside for several months and buy a new on at the end of the year. I was using my boss' laptop in lieu of my broken one. Sadly, my boss' laptop turned out to be a piece of crap. An arthritic snail would be faster. I could only do one thing at any particular time. I think I lasted a month so I suppose that's something.

So today I bought a new laptop, mini speakers, a usb hub, and a cooling stand, which is probably a piece of crap but eh. I spent the rest of day downloading and moving stuff over. Annoying. I'm backing up my Itunes library. Once I get that on here, I'll be done.

So I dipped into my savings and got another external hard drive. Blah. I didn't really want to spend money right now but I'm hopeful that I can replace the fund with my end of month pay cheque.

[livejournal.com profile] vulcanatf, just so you know, whacking it did work. The computer is now able to read it, but the fall seems to have jiggled something with the way the USB cord connects. I've only managed to pull the smaller files off. When I try to move the bigger files, it gives an i/o error after a valiant effort. I may have to impose on you to recopy the stuff you gave me the next time I come out. I'm making a list of the stuff I have on there that I downloaded. I guess I'll have to just download them again. Boo.

Lesson learned, I guess. Keep me away from table edges and electronics.

I broke my external hard drive! *cries*

I don't know if there's any way to get the files off. The computer recognizes that it's attached but it won't load it. Sigh.

Stupid klutz!

*is very mad at self*

I don't know what it is about Firefox but every so often, they'll put out a new update and it will totally screw up my computer. The symptoms are always the same. Firefox updates, then it starts crashing. Then Yahoo starts running around like a chicken with its head cut off and finally the computer gets unbearably slow. Backing up files is no fun but has been made easier by the fact that I bought an external hard drive not that long ago. See you on the flipside.
